The committee (Community Action Against Post Office Closings and Consolidation) of approximately 25 is a diverse group and it involves members from the surrounding communities, City of Newark Local Community, Postal Retirees; and members from various Delaware Postal Union's the (Newark, DE. Local, APWU; Delaware State, APWU; Wilmington Malcolm T. Smith Area Local, APWU; Southern DE Area Local, APWU; Local #308, NPMHU; Delaware State, NALC; Newark Branch #1977; NALC, Wilmington Branch # 191, NALC; New Castle Branch, # 4015 NALC; Southern DE Branch, # 906 NALC); and the Delaware State, AFL-CIO. We are not here form a union we have 4 strong Major Postal Unions locally and nationally, the Postal Union's need to be involved, we can't just allow the community to do the work, we have to get a stronger community, for a lot of the community are not computer literate and they depend on their local post office's. That is why the name of the group is called (Community Action Against Post Office Closings and Consolidation)
